Early 20th Century. sold "Made in Sweden"Since the times of the Ancient Greeks firedogs have been an invaluable feature to a fireplace, primarily for their functionality but also as hard wearing decor. The elegant gooseneck lifts an angled disc, mimicking a dog eagerly waiting for its owners return. Leading down the neck is an X struck in a box above the pinned joint to the log andiron rest. The neck is split to make the legs, the curvature with an instrument like design somewhat like the
